I threw this porcelain vessel on the potter's wheel using a swirl of cobalt blue and white porcelain. When the piece was leather-hard, I trimmed it on the wheel then hand-carved in the pattern and painted dark indigo underglaze into the incisions. Once the piece was bisque-fired, I applied a chartreuse high-fire glaze to the inside and a clear gloss high-fire glaze to the outside.
