I threw this vessel on the potter's wheel using a smooth white and grey porcelain swirl. I let it dry to leather-hard, trimmed it, and hand-carved the swirling smoke design, into which I painted watery white underglaze. Once the piece was bisque-fired, I applied a clear, high-fire glaze to the outside and a deep storm blue, celadon glaze to the inside. Natural cork stopper.
