I threw this small dark brown stoneware bowl on the potter's wheel. I let it dry to leather hard, trimmed it then hand-carved the pattern. Once the piece was bisque-fired, I applied dark red and dark blue high-fire glazes and white celadon. The carved pattern reminds me of dragon scales.
