Sculpted in 1997, this doll was exhibited in an art show at the Henry Street Settlement in New York City. She is based upon several different homeless people who lived on the street in and around my neighborhood at the time.
The doll is wired to the sidewalk base but can be removed without much problem.
Her hands, head and feet are a hand sculpted mix of cernit and super sculpey. All details are hand painted in acrylic paint. The body of the doll is made of cloth and wire and she is posable. Her clothes are a combination of different things..a knit glove, Barbie castoffs and leather. The blanket is felt. She has real human hair.
Doll is 9" tall when posed standing. The base is approx. 9" x 7.5 x 6.5.
